Bubble Tea Flavors – 3 of Our Most Popular Selections
Bubble tea is a beverage meant to be shared, enjoyed, and loved by everyone, so it’s no surprise that there’s also an endless variety of bubble tea flavors available!
Bubble tea was invented in Taiwan in the 1980s and has exploded in popularity. Originally a mixture of lightly steeped tea, simple syrup, and chewy tapioca pearls, the drink has become a worldwide phenomenon.
Today, bubble tea, also known as boba tea, has many tea shops consistently and continually innovating and customizing their drinks to fit the palate of the community they serve. Additions such as fresh fruit, tapioca balls, and even ice cream are common in bubble teas across the world.
Some milk tea shops are even swapping out tea, milk, and syrup for specialty, house-made varieties!
At Baroness Bubble Tea Canada, we’re focused on crafting drinks that aren’t just an invitation for everyone to share and tell stories. We believe they should tell a story themselves.
We want everyone to feel included in the story, which is why we use non-dairy, gluten-free, vegan-friendly oat milk in all of our drinks. Oat milk is naturally delicious, offers many heart health benefits, and allows our drinks to be enjoyed by everyone, even those with special dietary restrictions!
With over 30 delicious drinks to choose from, there’s bound to be one that’s right for you.
Here are 3 of our most popular bubble tea flavors to help you get started on your Baroness Bubble Tea journey!
Baroness Canada's Top 3 Bubble Tea Flavors
Taro Bubble Tea
Taro is a staple of East and South Asian cuisine, and, next to rice, it’s the continent’s favourite starch.
Subtlety sweet, packed with fibre, and offering bubble tea lovers a unique and creamy texture, it’s no surprise why taro bubble tea is one of our most popular drinks!
Taro bubble tea starts with fresh taro root, a vegetable rich in essential nutrients and dietary fibre.
Some have described this purple tubular root’s flavour as a combination between light vanilla and various nuts, while others have likened the taste to that of a nutty potato.
Whatever the consensus on this bubble tea flavor, it’s safe to say that this is not the only aspect that keeps bubble tea lovers returning again and again for this bubble tea flavor.
Taro has a unique texture that’s simultaneously creamy and grainy at the same time. When combined with our naturally thick and sweet oat milk and handmade tapioca pearls, the result is a drink that’s chewy, creamy, and coarse – all at the same time!

Brown Sugar Bubble Tea
Beautiful, trendy, and delicious, brown sugar bubble tea has taken the bubble tea world by storm, and it’s no surprise why.
Steeped in tradition, bubble tea has almost always been made with a tea base, with black tea being the most common, but innovation has seen many different varieties being used as well.
In brown sugar bubble tea, the typical black tea has fresh milk (oat milk, in our case) added too. Tapioca pearls braised fresh every morning in a thick, caramel-like brown sugar-sauce are first added to the cup at a slight tilt to streak the sides before adding our non-dairy oat milk.
The brown sugar streaks give this bubble tea flavor its signature appearance, and the contrast between the cold milk, the warm brown sugar syrup, the fragrant tea, and the chewy tapioca pearls is one that has won the hearts of people all around the world.
With only 3 simple ingredients, extra love, care, and attention must be taken to ensure that each addition is perfect.
The tapioca pearls and brown sugar syrup used in our boba teas are created through a labour of love performed each morning by Aki and Baroness staff.
Thai Milk Tea
A mix of black tea, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and a blend of authentic Thai spices, Thai cied milk tea is not just a popular drink at Baroness but a popular drink worldwide!
The first thing you’ll notice with Thai milk tea is the tea.
Strongly brewed and slightly bitter, its strength offsets the sweetness of the milk and brown sugar syrup. Light and refreshing, a cup of Thai milk tea is the perfect way to cool down under the hot Thai sun or to enjoy in the company of treasured friends.
How do we make it even better? By reimagining it is as Thai iced tea bubble tea! We add our creamy, signature oat milk and our freshly made pearls to make this sweet drink even sweeter.
